The community famously crowdfunded a Las Vegas Sphere ad campaign, raising roughly $700k to put the hat on the world's biggest screen. The campaign never actually made it onto the Sphere, but the attempt itself became part of WIF lore: a meme so strong people tried to buy physical advertising on one of the most visible screens on earth.
Launched as a Christmas airdrop to Solana wallets just weeks after the FTX collapse, when SOL was crashing toward $8 and morale was at zero. A baby pygmy hippo in a Thai zoo went viral on TikTok. Within days, multiple Moo Deng tokens launched on Solana. The original on pump.fun rocketed to $400M+ mcap. Textbook example of how fast a real-world event becomes a tradable asset in the meme economy.
Inspired by Elon Musk naming his Shiba Inu "Floki", the coin attracted Elon-watcher hype and built an actual ecosystem around it: a metaverse game, NFTs, a debit card, even crypto education. Combination of meme energy and serious development put FLOKI in the top 100 by mcap.
Fartcoin rode the same AI-meme wave that GOAT helped start, with Truth Terminal becoming part of the broader lore. It is the spiritual successor to "the dumber the better": a name designed to be unhypeable, that the market hyped anyway. A test of whether a meme can have literally zero substance and still pump.
Launched days before Donald Trump's inauguration, TRUMP became one of the biggest and most controversial political meme coins ever. It showed that meme coins were no longer just internet jokes.
